Kyoto, Japan – October 2, 2024 – SCREEN Graphic Solutions Co., Ltd. (SCREEN GA) opens its new Inkjet Innovation Center Kyoto this October. The center is located at SCREEN GA’s Kumiyama Site, the facility responsible for the development and production of the company’s graphic arts equipment.

In recent years, the commercial, publication, label and package printing markets have all seen a continuing rise in high-mix, small-lot production. Meanwhile, businesses are being held increasingly responsible for supporting the transition to a more sustainable society and the printing industry has had to adopt a much broader perspective than ever before in order to optimize printing methods. This includes the consideration of factors such as how to minimize material waste and improve operator working conditions.

In this environment, many printing companies are turning to digital presses. However, they often find themselves facing a variety of challenges when they try to apply the expertise they have built with traditional printing methods to this cutting-edge format. As part of its response to this issue, SCREEN GA has established a new Inkjet Innovation Center (IIC) at its Kumiyama Site in Kyoto.

IIC Kyoto hosts a full range of SCREEN GA’s Truepress JET, Truepress LABEL and Truepress PAC digital inkjet systems* and, along with its showroom functions, provides product demonstrations, sample and output verification, instruction in optimal system usage, and targeted training to help operators increase their skill level. All of these services are designed to help SCREEN GA customers expand their business in meaningful ways.

With the establishment of IIC Kyoto, SCREEN GA now has a global network of four bases. The other three are White Canvas MON-NAKA in Tokyo and IIC Europe in the Netherlands, as well as IIC USA, which also opened recently in 2023. Going forward, SCREEN GA intends to use this network to provide its customers with practical information on installation case studies, business models and trends related to digital printing worldwide. By highlighting the details of innovative digital inkjet technologies, it hopes to offer its customers solutions to the various issues they face.

* The Truepress JET 560HDX, Truepress JET 520HD+, Truepress LABEL 350UV SAI S and Truepress PAC 520P are set up for demonstration at IIC Kyoto (as of October 2024), while the Truepress PAC 830F is available at another site.
